Angeles Forest Expedition - Useful, Edible and Aromatic Plants

Sunday May 5 - Angeles Forest Expedition

Let's explore the local forest and see what we can find. We'll meet at the ranger station where you can purchase your forest pass for the day (Around $5 the last time I checked) and from there we'll take off and explore a couple of locations. Expect to see lots of aromatic plants, mugwort, chervil, yucca and who knows what else, it's always a surprise!

After the walk, we'll drink some homemade "wild" sodas

Bring water, good walking shoes. Notebook is a good idea - feel free to take photos too.  We will not collect native plants in the Angeles forest, invasive and non-native plants are fair game.

Time: From 10 A.M. to around 12:30 P.M.

Cost: $20.00

What have you heard about the Forest Adventure Pass being ruled against by the 9th US Circuit Court? http://www.whittierdailynews.com/news/ci_19974329

Hi Pascale, I went on your hike about i year ago and there was some amazing food waiting for us after we returned from our hike. The food was made from the wild edible plants we had just seen while on our walk. I was wondering if this is still part of the walk.I have been raving about your hike and your partner's "small food tastes". Just wondering if that is still part of the day? Linda

We should be done at around 12:30. You can also leave whenever you want. We won't go very far into Angeles forest.

Sorry, no small food tastes that day aside from maybe some wild beer and sodas.

Hi Pascale, do you have an idea of how long this might be? I'd really like to come along but have another obligation in the afternoon.
