Sunday July 21 - Making Elderberry Wine Workshop and Edible Plants Walk
During the first part of the workshop we'll go on a foraging hike and look at local aromatic and edible plants. We have some elder trees nearby so we should be able to forage some elderberries as well and learn how to recognize the trees. In any case, I'll make sure we'll have a large amount of elderberries at hand.
After the walk, we'll sit down and look at the various kinds of elderberries we have locally (we actually have white elderberries) and the various culinary applications. You will also learn how to make a traditional elderberry wine on location by going through all the initial steps of making the wine.
You'll be provided with the recipe for making the wine but I would suggest you also bring a notebook and take as much photos as you can. We have no more wine for tasting but we'll have a bit of elderberry liqueur just for fun - maybe some elderberry ice-cream too!
