Every Friday morning, I go on a foraging hike and exploration to gather wild food we'll be using to create various dishes for our weekend classes and workshop. I start the walk with a list of specific edible plants I intend to collect and fellow wild food hunters are welcome to join me.
That day, I want to collect some watercress, curly dock and Veronica.
I suggest you bring water, sunscreen, a foraging bag, as well as a gardening knife or pocket knife to harvest the plants. Please wear sensible hiking shoes and long sleeves and pants as there may be poison oak along the trails.
This is a great way to learn about the seasonality of wild food and what’s available for beginners and advanced foragers.
