This one only went about 20 min longer than planned. Ha ha. Good to see everybody at the meet! See you next month too I hope. I think next time as per a suggestion, I may bring a few beers to pass out to attendees. :-)

Did you mean to say you have a WiFi Pineapple?

Shelby, my bad. I just got a message from Drew who's the one bringing the WiFi Pineapple. He has been scheduled by his employer to go out of town during the day we're having this meetup. So therefore we have no pineapple to check out. I have a couple ways we could play this, I guess we could just get together on the 4th and watch some videos about configuration and discuss those, or we could reschedule the meet to the 11th instead... or both! I'm open to suggestions.

    Is this still on

Sounds good, see you there! No the building has WPA2 type auth so no big deal. It's for the tenants but meh... my systems aren't on it so I'm not worried about someone keeping the password and getting in later. lol

Ha! Nov 4th? Yeah, I could swing that. While I'm not a pineapple master, I could show off the fun out of the box toys it comes with and perhaps touch on some of the ideas I've had for potential uses. Does your office have straight up wpa2 security? Or does it have a more sophisticated encryption system like LEAP or PEAP or other enterprise level security layer? I ask because I have problems getting into the more complex wifi encryption protocols with the pineapple. I could bring a spare ap with me to plug into ethernet if that is the case. Fun!

    Hi Drew,
Yes I'd like to have this meet, are you available the first Tuesday next month? I can host again at the office building here if you are. There's WiFi available so you could show the Pineapple in action. lol

is this still happening? Is there a date set, or a location? I too have a mk5 we could play with... and while I use it mostly as a relay to the farthest bits of my house, I've also used it as a pivot and usually have it configured to autossh to an image out in the cloud.

yes, i'm certainly interested, depending on the date. i'd be relying on someone else to present though, because i've only dabbled with the device here and there and have no presentation at this time.

Does the hardware have to be MkV or would older gear suit?

    July 11, 2014

    • Matt C.

I'd say at this point unless someone has $100 to drop for a new MkV... a previous model would do!

I'd love to have this meetup too, if someone has a donor pineapple we can borrow?? :-)
