London Meetup Organisers - Monthly Meetup

This month
Andy Bargery is running a session on how to use a blog in conjunction with Meetup to engage with meetup members, encourage community, demonstrate your group’s interests and to attract new members. Andy is a seasoned blogger who setup his first blog in 2006 and has since advised on and edited blogs for companies such as eBay and lastminute.com. He is also the man behind the successful
London Bloggers Meetup, a group with over 950 members, and for which he won the Meetup organiser of the week award. Feel free to post questions on-line so we can deliver a more focused session for you. Agenda:- 6:15pm - Doors open 6:30pm - Arrive 6:35pm – Andy & Blogging w/ Q&A 7:30pm - Open discussion and sharing on what help is needed in running groups. 8:00pm - Formal wrap up & go for a drink! Rockin! Picked up some new tips about blogs. I think we're lucky to have Bernie and Andy running this as they are very knowledgeable and well connected. We can all learn a lot from them and each other. A buzz has been created!

second time I've attended a monthly organisers meet up, and it was an interesting evening. sadly i missed the beginning (it started early, 6.15pm) but was able to get involved easily. Andy gave a good presentation on blogging, and I got some good tips on moving my blogging forward. Will def attend again.

Good conversation and interesting ideas for how this group can work together to help each other in using meetup.com.

Very nice meeting you and a useful topic. It got me thinking about quite a few things. Sadly we talked a lot about different platforms and drawing members away from Meetup. I think our focus should be drawing members in, because Meetup is a great meeting and market place. Perhaps as organisers we should tune in more into what members want and think of ways to attract them to come on a regular basis. I wonder is there a way to write a blog on your meetup page?

nice meetup - shame the associated online interaction is so messy - can't come to term-time meetups

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
