Do pardon me exploding into your 'In Box' last minute, tonight there is a gathering of 'Meet Up' minds as detailed below.
The idea is a short sharp 45 - 60 mins - all and thoughts below.
Objections and comments welcome!
Ahead of tonight?s Meet Up please have a ponder on these questions?
1. What is Meet Up to you personally? ?Meet up is a place for me to....? or 'I use Meet Up to.....?
2. What would ?The Mother of All Meet Ups? look like to you?
3. Is it ok to pay for a Meet Up if it is just to cover costs?
4. What message do you want to send about Meet Up?
5. How did you discover Meet Up?
I ask these questions to set the scene and we all hit the ground running.
Please allow me to lay down my take..
Meet Up is a place to meet likeminded people, period.
It is NOT a place to sell it is a place to learn, collaborate and grow.
The beauty of Meet Up is that you can find people that have the same passion (however obscure / niche / wild / sober) and geek out about it with them. At the risk of getting philosophical ultimately it is a place you can be yourself.
I have met some fantastic people through Meet Up, we are never going to give each other money however, we have helped each other both personally and commercially.
For me Mother of All Meet Up?s would be about 300 people in a venue or on a boat.
The costs would be covered either by the bar take or by people paying a nominal amount.
People would buy their own food and drink to lower the risk our risk.
If we could find a sponsor that would be great.
If we could do this four times a year to keep the energy up that would be great.
The goal for me is to promote the Meet Up community as a whole ? so people are attracted to Meet Up and find their place. If it leads to business great, but that is not the reason for this event.
Any thread of ?inter Meet Up completion? should be addressed right away, the goal is to promote Meet Up as a whole!
We either do it brilliantly or not at all.
Thats what I think!
