|I agree with Marilyn on the location of play. I lived on the west side for several years and played a few times per month but then I moved to the east side and would rather not drive to the other side of town to play euchre. I am much busier with my job and other hobbies which also contributes to not going anymore but if it was closer to the east side or maybe alternated from east to west, I would be more willing to show up. Maybe the idea of a free or very affordable league-type singles format would be enticing and would create more of an ownership to showing up. I realize this would create more work for the lead person or league secretary of the group but maybe it would be worth it in the long run. I certainly don't want to take the fun out of this euchre group and I understand that some people wouldn't want to do something like
this but maybe there could be a compromise...a league group and a just-for-fun group. Just throwing out ideas. Not saying they are the way to go. But yes, with 200+ people there must be something that can be done to get more of us to come.|

There used to be a head table and people had lunch
aftreward and discussed each others assets. I played Euchre for years
until my handicap. I look forward to getting there again. Also you
may have a bad location in that east siders are more the industrial side of town
and may show up better. Door prized are also fun for the partners who win
at the head table and small prizes for the people who do go to the head

[The-Madison-Area-Euchre-Meetup-Group] improve our free euchre MeeUps?
Hi Free Euchre players,
I would like feedback on how we can improve
our free euchre MeetUps.
We used to get 20 to 30 people, sometimes
more, for free euchre. There was a good mix of experienced players and
People knew each other. We socialized, and played cards. It
Then it dwindled, to where we now don’t always have enough for
two tables. Sometimes, not even one. With over 200 members, we can do better
Do you think we can again get a core group of 20-30 people?
Do you have any ideas to share? (One thing some people have already told me is
that few people RSVP anymore, so it’s impossible to tell who else is coming.
That’s a good point.)
I hope you hear from you, even if it’s just “yes,
I would like to play free euchre, if it were better attended.”
