The Marin Conservative Forum Pages

Vision
We the people are determined to preserve individual liberty and reduce the control of government in our lives. We endeavor to energize a shift in Marin County toward conservative values defined by lower taxes, reduced government spending, elimination of borrowing and support for family values.

Mission Statement
Develop a network of Conservatives who desire a safe place to discuss issues important to them in their daily lives. Meet to strategize how best to impact the political arena to make those conservative shifts. Support Conservatives in pursuit of political activity. Encourage participation in the democratic process.

Action Items:
Create a Conservative Forum in Marin County
Commit to growing the group in order to influence our beliefs
Encourage Conservatives into participation in the democratic process
Provide venues for members to educate them, keep them informed, meet to discuss urgent issues and develop speaker expertise
Develop a website for a go to place for information and a vehicle to mobilize members to respond to legislative activity
Plan strategies for action on our critical concerns

Core Urgent Issues:

National:
Stop rush to tax increases/borrowing/bailouts
Oppose Socialized/Government run healthcare
Oppose Amnesty for illegal immigrants
Look for reasonable solutions to energy crisis
Simplify tax code

State:
Lobby for conservative candidate for Governor
Free state government from stranglehold of unions
Advocate for a balanced, safe and responsible budget
Reduce state spending & committments to inappropriate programs which are draining our hospitals, schools and prisons. Follow federal immigration laws.

Local:
Advocate for Marin County pension plan reform
Stop excessive use of consultants
Lobby against Marin Clean Energy
Monitor tax and costs for Smart Train.

These issues are, of course, not exculsive to our concerns. We have identified them for now as prime areas which require immediate attention.
