Connected by nature: In conversation with Richard Louv

Will offer renewed optimism while challenging us to rethink the way we live.
“We cannot protect something we do not love, we cannot love what we do not know, and we cannot know what we do not see. And touch. And hear,” Richard Louv.
“As we spend fewer hours in natural surroundings, we pay a price physically and psychologically,“ says Richard Louv.
This event is part of the Sustainable Living Festival.
Cost: $15.

Presentation was excellent. Theatre was full house. Richard Louv spoke about the importance of having a good connection with nature, particularly for children. There were questions about how this can be achieved in suburban Melbourne with the way developers try to maximise building size.

I am a fan of co-housing. This allows for denser housing, with common areas. This common areas could include larger gardens and treed areas, meeting social needs and enabling better connection with nature.

There was co-housing stand again at the recent Sustainability expo. The following event is coming up - Urban Coup Public Information Session
    WHEN: 11:00am - 12:30pm, Saturday 8 March, 2014
WHERE: Richmond Public Library, 415 Church Street, Richmond.

I am willing to host (so long as I am given some guideline as to how to post an event). Suggest also a light lunch afterwards. Any thoughts?

Hi Patrick! I am glad that you enjoyed the presentation, I totally agree that co-housing is a great concept. I have just upgraded you to Event Organiser so, now, you will be able to post the event. It is very easy, you just have to go to"SCHEDULE A NEW MEETUP" and fill in the gaps with the information required. If you have any problems, let me know. Thanks for that. I will try to make this one, so I hope I will see you there!!!
