hi there, I remember a note about this meetup saying this was for 'organisers' only.. which is the only reason I'm changing my RSVP to a 'no' from a yes.. urm.. I'd really like to meet you all.. maybe at the AGM? I think this particular meet up is for organisers only..? Nigel?
For people involved in organising the AGM specifically Marilyn - not really a social gathering this one, mostly work :-) You'll definitely meet us at the AGM though!

I know you're in the meeting right now, and I'm sorry for the 'blonde' question, but when is the AGM :) (I promise I'm not so ditzy in 'real life') :) mx
Hi Sat 30th
Hi guys - up in the dining room of The Mess Hall now (bit early!) See you soon! :-)
On train won't be long.

Would it be ok if we find a venue without a lot of background noise, too many loud rock bands have rendered my hearing useless in a noisy venue..Cheers Tess

To meet up with like minded fans of Science Fiction and Fantasy, in all its forms. We do many many different types of events, but they basically break down into four streams:
Stream 1 (S1) - Movies, TV and Books - Watching, talking about, sharing suggestions, Google "Hangouts" (TBA), and much more... See the page here for details.
Stream 2 (S2) - Events, Cons and Cosplay - Pirates, Zombies, Steampunk, conventions, and many more. See page here for details.
Stream 3 (S3) - Action/Adventure - Lasertag, Paintball, Archery for Valentines day - and anything else that involves raised heart rates :) See page here for details.
Stream 4 (S4) - Arthouse, Arts and Crafts - all things arty and crafty, including costume design, exhibitions, special events at ACMI, cupcakes and swapmeets! See page here for details.
Once every few months there are "Newbie" meetups, where people who've never been to one of our events can meet other new people and some established members.
Each month there are also regular monthly meetups that Nigel organises for discussions of general business, that anyone is welcome to attend!
PS: Newbies don't have to attend the Newbie meetup - it's just that one event has badges and signs to make things easier specifically for Newbies :)

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
