Quality not Quantity...
We are a vibrant, active and exclusive group of gourmet lovers and bon vivants who enjoy dining at Michelin Starred restaurants and attending other sophisticated venues and events with like-minded people - mostly in London but we have been known to venture outside of London, for instance to the Waterside Inn and the Fat Duck in Bray and Le Manoir aux Quat'saisons

Among other events, we embrace The English Social Season including the Polo, Henley Royal Regatta, the Royal Enclosure at Ascot, and many Exclusive Private Parties, Gala Dinners and Black Tie Events with VIP guests.
We also have plans to visit the Top 10 Restaurants in the world, so yes we do love our food!
So, If you would like to get together with like-minded folks, about once every month (or sooner) for a very special lunch, dinner or more at some of London's finest places, please do join us.
I originally set up this group to take advantage of the brilliant set menu lunches during the recession at top restaurants. There was no group like it before in the world, So I am flattered that many have tried to imitate us.
We have often secured tables in the first week of opening for top restaurants.
The venues we go to are obviously not for the budget conscious or for people who don't like to dress for the occasion so please bear that in mind. If ultra casual scruffy t-shirt and jeans is your preferred dress code, this is probably not the group for you.
If you are not a sociable soul and prefer to be a wallflower; totally silent, disengaged and like to suck in other people's personalities, again probably not for you. Please bring something to the table, a story, your story, humour, something interesting. You don't have to be an entertainer, just please engage.
Plus, this is a non-profit making group and, as with all well managed things, there are rules, please read them:
Only members with a visible picture of themselves on their profile will be able to join. We like to see who we are dining with. If you remove your picture or you have a random pic of a celebrity, flower or cloud etc, you will be removed from the group or declined membership. That's just being fair to everyone else who does have a pic. Our membership is not visible to non-members so no need to worry.
Our events are very, very, very (insanely) popular and so we have a very strict policy with ill mannered no-shows, there is no excuse to not let us know, apart from the obvious, no shows are immediately removed from the group.
Places usually get snapped up within the hour - you may need to put the meetup app on your phone or make sure your emails get through quickly. Please do not complain to me if you can't get a place, it is beyond my control!
Mobile phones are definitely, absolutely, NOT acceptable at the dining table; obviously because that is beyond extremely bad mannered and unsociable.
Please keep them in your bag or pocket or play with them elsewhere (McDonalds) or you will be humiliated at the table and removed from the group. You have been warned!
Please adhere to the dress code as required.
Do not join simply to spam our members, you and your spam will be removed swiftly and reported to Meetup.
Please also note that the restaurants and other venues we frequent operate a no show/will pay policy. So anyone wishing to book will have to pay for the set lunch menu at least. There is also a £3 organiser charge for all events, as recommended by meetup, this pays for the monthly upkeep fees of the group.
I do not charge a membership fee but I have to pay meetup fees and I share that between the people who come to events rather than charge all members. Fair? There is also a small paypal charge - because they are not a charity and do charge me - obviously if you don't agree with this please do not join. Certainly do not contact me to complain about this.
Drinks and any extras are just that, extra (unless stated otherwise). Gratuity of around 12.5% (as per the restaurant stipulation) is also added onto the bill on the day.
Please ensure that you can definitely make it as there can be NO REFUNDS once the table is booked and you may be charged extra depending on what the restaurant charges me - usually £50-£100 per head per no shows. Even if someone takes your place, PLEASE NOTE - no refund.
I am not a concierge service or a restaurant booking service, so please don't ask, unless of course you would like to pay me £1000 per hour (minimum) for that. In that case, please do feel free to contact me immediately and I will respond with due haste. If not, you may be waiting a long time.
All of that said, this is a really, really fabulous and fun group with truly lovely members who have made life-long friends and enjoyed the best restaurants and experiences in London and beyond.
