Trail Run March Field Trip

FIELD TRIP!!!

This week we'll run the Ice Age Trail from Scuppernong.

Directions: West on 94 to Oconomowoc exit for Hwy 67. Go left (South) on 67 towards the Southern Kettle Moraine. Turn left on Hwy ZZ. Go about a mile or so and turn left into the Scuppernong trailhead parking area.

I'd like to explore this trail going north. It will be an out and back run, so feel free to turn around whenever you want. All mileages are fine.

However a few people have mentioned they want to run longer, so I'd like to propose a 12-14 mile run (approx. 6-7 miles out and back).

It is a state park, so you need a park sticker or day pass, which you can buy as you enter.  Buying a sicker is a good deal if you plan on going to a state park more than 4 times within the year.

Not sure if we'll do brunch. We'll play it by ear, depending on the interest and what time we finish.

Does anyone want to carpool? Usual meeting spot is 76th St. park and ride. Leaving there by 8:15 should get you to the trail by 9.

      I'll meet there, too.

With the 84th St exit closed, you'll wan to exit at 68th-70th and make your way to 76th on the frontage road.

Wish I could make it (can't). Have fun. It is a great section of the Ice age trail. (I injured myself skiing, so I won't be running for a while.) Going to see what the doctor has to say today.

If my car isn't out of the shop by tomorrow, is anyone headed out from the east side who might be willing to carpool?

    March 21, 2014

    • Kurt O.

Or even if your car is done, we might want to arrange a carpool.

True, that'd be great! Thanks, Kurt.

Thanks. Feeling way better today. Doctor indicated that "no broken bones". Just pulled muscles. Prob a few weeks at minimum before I can run. Oh, well.
