Cut & Cook

  • Mar 2, 2014 · 1:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Come anticipate Spring's slow thaw and cook with us and Chef Curley once again in his professional kitchen at March's Cut & Cook!

--  A big thanks goes out to the volunteers pitching in and making this an even more awesome group!  If you'd like to add your ideas and energy as well, we'd love to have you.

--  We will have some fun cooking another great dinner together for a great cause: Residents of the men’s emergency shelter in Rockville run by the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless.

--  We welcome all ranges of culinary abilities…from professionals to “all I know how to cook is toast, and I usually burn it!”

--  With our new pay & play RSVP process, don't worry about picking up groceries for the meal.  We'll take care of the shopping!! All you have to do is show up, cook and have fun :)

We look forward to cooking with you!

Phil, thanks for all your help--many hands make for a lighter load. Hey, were your ears burning? I've been bragging about your awesome peanut butter/peanut cookie sammy's.

You are more then welcome, and I must be a little out of range for my ears to burn, lol.

Thank you everyone for coming out to cook with us on Sunday. Great meeting new folks and seeing others again. Chef Curley's samples were awesome as was his recipe and demo of quick and tasty hummus! I can see now why Philip's stuffed peanut butter cookies are famous...they're yummy. Hope to see you all at happy hour on March 14.

I can come now. Since I alread paid previously before I changed my RSVP, I am not going to RSVP yes because I would have to pay again. Please let me know if there isn't room for me. If not, I'll be there Sunday. Thanks.

Welcome to MoCo Cooking for Good Emerald! Thanks for your excellent questions! We're a growing and dynamic group with wonderful members :) There's plenty for everyone to do and get involved with to make our group better all the time. Our roles are evolving and include opportunities such as:

    - Picking recipes & pricing ingredients for the meals,
    - Shopping for ingredients,
    - Hosting Cut & Cook events,
    - Delivering prepared food to the shelter,
    - Planning social gatherings, and
    - Helping with the overall coordination of the group.

About the Cut & Cook coming up:

    - Google or mapquest the location to make sure you know how to get there,
    - We're meeting at a large commercial kitchen with room for everyone to do their part,
    - Chef Curley and/or other volunteers generally let us know what needs to be done,
    - There's typically plenty to do, though it varies some depending on what recipe we are preparing that day.

Hope that gives a little better idea. Let us know if you have more questions and we look forward to cooking with you!
