Jacks Peak County Park
This hike will be at 3mph (at level) walking speed HIKE at Jacks Peak Park, Monterey. We will meet at 2:00 PM below the park toll entrance. We plan to stay on the main trails. This hike will be hilly and moderately easy, but not a simple walk. The hike will take 1 1/2 hours. Tennis shoes will be fine. Animals are fine. Much poisson oak, but trails are wide.
Directions: Park in the parallel parking area on Jacks Peak Road before you get to the park toll booth. There is no parking fee at this location. However, there are only spaces for about 10 cars. To get on to the park entrance road from Highway 68 turn on to Olmstead in the direction opposite to the airport. There is an entrance gate on the left about a mile from 68. Parking is 1/3 to 1/2 mile up the park entrance road. We meet at the parking area and hike into the park.
