Afternoon Hike: Fort Ord Creekside

You are invited to an afternoon hike on Fort Ord. It will be an afternoon hike of about 4 miles at a moderate pace of 3 mph. The terrain is rolling. We will start at the Creekside trailhead, which is a parking lot.

Directions to Creekside Trailhead:
From Marina: Take Reservation Rd. to Portola Dr. just short of Hwt 68. Turn right. Follow this road (it changes names) around to the park trailhead.
From Monterey: Take Hwy 68 toward Salinas exiting at Reservation Rd. Turn left under the highway. Turn left, almost immediately, on to Portola Drive.
From Salinas: Exit Hwy 68 right on to Reservation Rd. Make an immediate left on to Portola.

HIKE SUMMARY: Moderately easy hike.
Starting Location: Creekside Terrace parking lot.
Start Time: 2:00 PM
Pace: Moderate (3 mph when level)
Total Distance: ~4 miles (2 hrs.)
Estimated Elevation Gain: ~400 feet

WHAT TO BRING: Sturdy hiking shoes, water and protection from the sun.
