Beginner Ride @ Government Canyon (Mountain Bike)

We are meeting at Government Canyon for a Mountain Bike ride.  We are riding the frontcountry trails.  These are pretty flat and not very rocky dirt trails.  The frontcountry ride is about 7 miles but we may add an extra 4 miles.  I will tell you if we are doing this so that you have the option of continuing or not.

Our speed will range from 6 to 12 mph.  Sometimes going faster sometimes slower.

Beginner ride today.

There is a fee of $6.00 to enter the park unless you have an annual state park pass.  Helmet required.  Emphasis-- Helmet required on all rides and bring 2 or 3 liters of water for yourself.

Meet at:

Look for the dark green mountain bike. I will probably be wearing black shorts and a blue shirt. We will meet at the visitor center close to the water tower and bathrooms.

The Usual Stuff:

As with any park we mountain bike there are smooth parts and rocky parts and any part that makes you uncomfortable you can walk though it. Make sure you have water, sun block, and wear a helmet.  When we ride we will have some rest stops along the way to let everyone catch their breath. I will only be there if there are people who RSVP "YES" by the RSVP deadline.

Rain cancels this event.

The deadline to rsvp "Yes" for this meetup is the day before the meetup.

Make sure you have enough water for yourself. I probably carry about 3 liters worth of water for myself.

That morning after my bike had a flat, looked like it busted along the seam. I replaced it with a new slime tire, and added that tire liner, since the back busted I'm compelled to change out the front because I'm paranoid! I had a great time on Saturday it was harder than last time, I guess because I knew what was coming up and was anticipating it, but I took that incline much better this time! :D

Argh wish I could, but I have plans on going out this Sunday on the MTB with a friend, and I know I'd be dead to the world if I go on Saturday, I'll have to catch the next "Beginner" ride... BTW I dig the old school Rocket Raccoon.
