Reveille Peak Ranch (Mountain Bike) [Intermediate]

Going to Reveille Peak Ranch and hoping to join up with the Austin Ridge Riders group.

http://www.meetup.com/mountainbikes-130/events/156468212/

I have never been there so it will all be a surprise.  I will email my cell# to those on the "yes" rsvp list.

Here is some of my usual stuff:

There are smooth parts and rocky parts and any part that makes you uncomfortable you can walk though it. Make sure you have water (About 3 liters), sun block, some food, and wear a helmet.  When we ride we will have some rest stops along the way to let everyone catch their breath. I will only be there only if there are people who RSVP "YES" by the RSVP deadline. The deadline to rsvp is the day before the meetup.

Rain cancels this event.

I will probably be wearing black shorts and a blue shirt. Look for the dark green mountain bike.

Directions: Go north on 281 until you get to Burnet.  Go west on 29.  Go north on FM 2341.  Turn left on County Road 114. Turn left again after about 300 feet.  RPR is on the left

Really nice place to bike ride. Very interesting landscape. There is always a little bit of suffering since the Austin people usually push the group a little faster than what I am accustomed to. I keep up but barely. Good to see everyone. We will be there again in Mid-March for the bike festival. We will do our own ride following my Garmin.

Sorry I bailed on you guys after the ride. Hadn't realized what time ide be back in San Antonio if I didn't leave right away. The upper loop was painfully technical but the downhills were worth it.

Enrique, did your friend upload any of the pics she was taking?

      February 9, 2014

    • Enrique

No. She is a member of the Austin group and she has posted pictures but not the ones that include us. At least she hasn't posted them yet. Maybe later.

Great trails. Our group rode Race Loop and then up RPR trail. A bit technical but FUN!

What time are you leaving SA in the morning?

    February 6, 2014

    • Enrique

Well.... you did not say yes or no. I will probably not check again until morning or I might not check again. I am getting the bike, backpack, and stuff ready for tomorrow so I can just head straight out there. Austin people have about 35 riders going.

Been contemplating this ride all week and decided I'll meet yall there. It's been a week and a half so I'll probably take it easy as well.

RPR is a great place to ride. I've only been there once, but it's terrific. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this time around, but looking forward to being able to join on some rides at some point.

Since I have not been riding all week I think I will go with the beginners ARR group. If we feel like more then we can ride some more.
