Non-Stop -- Leon Creek -- Beginner Speed++ (Mountain Bike) 12 Miles

We will begin at the Mainland Trailhead just off of Bandera Road and then follow the Leon Creek Greenway. We will try to do this non-stop.  Instead of a stop to rest we will slow down to about 5 mph and coast for about 3 minutes. We will keep riding. We will stop for accidents, flat tires or other mechanical problems, or if your energy is low and you absolutely have to eat something. As we ride If there is any kind of problem or need something then the rider can shout it out.  We will adjust.

Our speed will range from about 8 to 12 mph

This ride will be on mostly dirt trails and some paved areas.  We will ride for about 2 hours.  We will meet by the shelter.  Think of these beginner non-stop rides as training for getting to intermediate level rides.

The Usual Stuff:

As with any park we mountain bike there are smooth parts and rocky parts and any part that makes you uncomfortable you can walk though it. Make sure you have water(About 2 or 3 liters), sun block, and wear a helmet.  If you need to rest then shout out to the group to slow the speed down for a few minutes or to stop.  I will only be there if there are people who RSVP "YES" by the RSVP deadline.

Meet at:

We are meeting at the Mainland Trailhead parking lot. It is next to the WalMart and behind the apartment complex on Bandera road.
Look for the dark green mountain bike. I will probably be wearing black shorts and a blue shirt. See you there.

Rain cancels this event.

The deadline to rsvp "Yes" for this meetup is 1 days before the ride.

    Good ride. Good to see those that were there. A few of you were missing. We waited 10 minutes and then started riding at 6:40.

    I maybe a little late, I'll be coming from downtown at 6pm. Hopefully traffic isn't too bad. Do we need to bring our lights just incase?

      We will try to finish before it gets too dark. Intend to be back at the parking by about 8:20. If we need to we will get off the dirt trails and get on the sidewalk and ride back to the parking lot. Bring your light if you feel like it. I will take mine.
