Non-Stop -- Leon Creek -- Intermediate Speed (Mountain Bike) 12 Miles

We will begin at the Mainland Trailhead just off of Bandera Road and then follow the Leon Creek Greenway. We will try to do this non-stop.  Instead of a stop to rest we will slow down to about 5 mph and coast for about 3 minutes. We will keep riding. We will stop for accidents, flat tires or other mechanical problems, or if your energy is low and you absolutely have to eat something. As we ride If there is any kind of problem or need something then the rider can shout it out.  We will adjust.

Our speed will range from about 8 to 12 mph

This ride will be on mostly dirt trails and some paved areas.  We will ride for about 2 hours.  We will meet by the shelter.  Think of these beginner non-stop rides as training for getting to intermediate level rides.

The Usual Stuff:

As with any park we mountain bike there are smooth parts and rocky parts and any part that makes you uncomfortable you can walk though it. Make sure you have water, sun block, and wear a helmet.  If you need to rest then shout out to the group to slow the speed down for a few minutes or to stop.  I will only be there if there are people who RSVP "YES" by the RSVP deadline.

Meet at:

We are meeting at the Mainland Trailhead parking lot. It is next to the WalMart and behind the apartment complex on Bandera road.
Look for the dark green mountain bike. I will probably be wearing black shorts and a blue shirt. See you there.

Rain cancels this event.

The deadline to rsvp "Yes" for this meetup is 1 days before the ride.

Great first ride with the group. I've been riding the trails for a couple of years and have wanted to join a group to ride with. Thanks ..

My body and my 26 were both making creaking noises. We still did a good pace. Got the webs out of my heart and lungs. Next week we try to go back to the one stop ride. Good to see everyone and missed those of you that didn't make it today.

The ride may be slower than other times since we have to figure out what trails are good for riding and avoid wet or flooded areas. Its been a week since my last ride so its good to get back on the bike.

Official sunset is at 8:28. We have to be done by that time. We should be able to add 2 more miles.

Just saw a note that trails are still soft as of right now. May have to pick and choose. Paved and dirt will likely be needed.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
