Leon Creek -- Beginner Speed (Mountain Bike)

We will begin at the Mainland Trailhead just off of Bandera Road and then follow the Leon Creek Greenway.

Our speed will range from about 6 to 10 mph

This ride will be on mostly dirt trails and some paved areas.  We will ride for about 2 hours.  We will meet by the shelter.

The Usual Stuff:

As with any park we mountain bike there are smooth parts and rocky parts and any part that makes you uncomfortable you can walk though it. Make sure you have water, sun block, and wear a helmet.  If you need to rest then shout out to the group to slow the speed down for a few minutes or to stop.  I will only be there if there are people who RSVP "YES" by the RSVP deadline.

Meet at:

We are meeting at the Mainland Trailhead parking lot. It is next to the WalMart and behind the apartment complex on Bandera road.
Look for the dark green mountain bike. I will probably be wearing black shorts and a blue shirt. See you there.

Rain cancels this event.

The deadline to rsvp "Yes" for this meetup is 1 days before the ride.

I'll catch you guys out there. I don't think the trails will be dry enough. (I live 1/4 mile from the Leon Creek Greenway). I'll see ya'll at 9:30am, just in case you decide to ride the pavement.

I'll be sticking with the pavement tomorrow at Leon Creek. I rode the Salado Creek paved trail today, which is now complete from US 281 to Huebner Road, and there were two places near each end of the trail where the water was still over the paved trail deep and nasty enough that I did not ride through. I still got in 15 miles. I do not expect the paved trail at Leon to have any of these flooded spots, at least by tomorrow morning. See you tomorrow!

I agree with Enrique...and don't think it will dry up by Sunday morning. Pavement is works for me! Look for Black Trek 4300 mountain bike. Count me in!

I think it will be too muddy to ride the dirt trails. If it is too muddy we will ride the pavement.
