Non-Stop -- Leon Creek -- Intermediate Speed (Mountain Bike) 16 Miles

We will begin at the Mainland Trailhead just off of Bandera Road and then follow the Leon Creek Greenway. We will try to do this non-stop.  Instead of a stop to rest we will slow down to about 5 mph and coast for about 3 minutes. We will keep riding. We will stop for accidents, flat tires or other mechanical problems, or if your energy is low and you absolutely have to eat something. As we ride If there is any kind of problem or need something then the rider can shout it out.  We will adjust.

I know its posted as non-stop but the first rest stop will be in 35 minutes and second rest stop is 20 minutes after that.  Not everyone feels like a superhero everyday so 2 rest stops are part of the ride. I adjust the speed to try to keep the group together.

Our speed will range from about 8 to 12 mph

This ride will be on mostly dirt trails and some paved areas.  We will ride for about 2 hours.  We will meet by the shelter.

The Usual Stuff:

As with any park we mountain bike there are smooth parts and rocky parts and any part that makes you uncomfortable you can walk though it. Make sure you have water, sun block, and wear a helmet.  If you need to rest then shout out to the group to slow the speed down for a few minutes or to stop.  I will only be there if there are people who RSVP "YES" by the RSVP deadline.

Meet at:

We are meeting at the Mainland Trailhead parking lot. It is next to the WalMart and behind the apartment complex on Bandera road.
Look for the dark green mountain bike. I will probably be wearing black shorts and a blue shirt. See you there.

Rain cancels this event.

The deadline to rsvp "Yes" for this meetup is 1 days before the ride.

*** We are aiming for 16 miles today. The first rest stop is in 35 minutes. Our speed will probably remain at 10mph or above most of the time. During the ride if you think you signed up for the wrong level you can always get off the dirt trail and onto the sidewalk and attempt to intercept and meet the group further ahead. That is if you know our route already, otherwise you are of course free to pursue your own aims. Our little group is trying to achieve higher levels. We have to get it done before the sun sets.

*** Make sure your camelback is full of water since there is no plan to take detours for water fountains. Hopefully no flat tires or mechanical problems but if they happen make sure you bring repair supplies for your needs. Protect your head with a helmet. Bring a snack if your energy runs low.

Crossing Leon Creek's Chicxulub crater is what slow us down.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
