I'm disabled and have lots of free time, but still do ok, and I get around fine with my trusty/rusty pick-em-up, my cane and my supersonic wheeled wonder walker... Any days of the week other than Tues/Wednes/Thursdays (days my spousal unit is off work and therefore sancrosanct), I should be able to join in some of the fun and games -- hopefully soon and even better, often! I love the collecting, preparing, building, modifying and painting of minis, creating terrain and game-tables, and all the other aspects of the hobby as well. Currently, I have a HUGE collection (becoming a backlog) of 40K minis needing to be built, painted and (hopefully) fielded for battle and have been looking for new gaming comrades since moving to the area (Manassas, VA).
I started *wargaming* back in the stone-knife-and-bearskin days of the hobby, playing the old plastic bagged *Pocket Games* and of course MANY hex-and-otherwise-mapped carboard-counter boxed games (well, still do the latter occasionally)as well, moving to primarily tabletop wargaming using the old Ral Partha (and many other) 25mm fantasy minis, 1/250-1/300 scale modern and sci-fi armor games, and finally mostly sci-fi wargaming using GW Warhammer 40,000 (and any other 25-30mm) miniatures. There's been 15mm gaming in there too, and I've used rules from EVERYONE along the journey, later including the Rogue Trader system quite a bit. I've always been a big believer in buying the minis one likes, and *then* finding the rules to support them, and lately I've been using the All Purpose Miniature Rules by the inimitable Crunchy Frog Enterprises, hoping to try them out using GW (and other) minis with whatever forces other interested folk(s) might want to pit against me.
Dave: please write me -- [masked] -- using a non-group-affiliated email account and I'll give you my contact info (meant to be eyes only for you (and other organizers/VIPs)).

I've lived within about 50 miles of Leesburg VA all my life, growing up on 'Oatlands Plantation' on Route 15-South about 7 miles out of said burgh, and have been living and gaming here there and everywhere (MD and WV too) since -- yipes no more room!
