My name is Ilana Eberson and I'm the President of The NYC Business Networking Group. According to Meetup statistics we The # 1 Business & Entrepreneur Networking Group on Meetup. Woohoo! That in great part, is thanks to our members who are so involved and committed to helping make our group the best business group possible.

We'd love for you to join us and be part of our vibrant and growing membership. I started this group with 700 members and now we have over 4,400 members. Why? Because we provide excellent services to our members and help them connect with business owners. We provide them with 1) small business services to help them grow and build their own businesses and 2) for lead generation to enable them to meet new leads and contacts who want to buy their products and services.

MONTHLY MEETINGS

The best way to get involved in this group is to attend our monthly meetings. We normally host two live business networking events per month and we've just launched virtual speed networking for professionals. We're here to build a strong and powerful small business and entrepreneur community in New York City. If you're looking to meet, interact and network with leading business professionals, including owners, managers and executives of established businesses and entrepreneurs, this is the place for you.

We host 3 types of networking events:

1) Our regular monthly "NYC Small Business & Entrepreneur Networking Reception" allows for general mingling and networking, to connect with as many of our other members as you can over the course of the evening. We host 80-120 at these events.

2) Our signature monthly event is called our "NYC Pitch Party: Our Best & Most Effective Business Networking Event". It isn't a spectator sport so everyone participates to promote their own businesses in an open pitch to our group. We provide you a monthly opportunity to practice making your verbal business commercial concise, to the point and presented with high impact. The shorter and more concise your pitch, the more it will be remembered and the more you'll be noticed. Having a short and concise pitch helps you make an excellent first impression to encourage new business clients and contacts to approach you at our events. The evening starts with check-in while members arrive, grab a drink and relax after their day. After that, each attendee spends 30 seconds pitching their businesses to the whole group. After the pitch is the formal networking part of the event. Having heard what each person's business is, it's easy to target who you'd like to follow up with and exchange business cards. We normally host 60-70 people each month. We started the concept in early 2007 and it's become our most successful and effective monthly event.

3) Virtual Speed Networking For Business Professionals: THIS IS THE NEWEST BUSINESS NETWORKING TECHNOLOGY AVAILABLE ANYWHERE WORLDWIDE. Wait till you see how great it is to meet business professionals, without leaving your desk. We provide you with the ability to stretch your wings and widen your sales territory. Our technology gives you the ability to network with possible customers, leads and contacts anywhere around the world from you own office. Our virtual event happens over the phone, with a computer. In one hour, you'll talk live, 1-on-1 with 10 other business professionals. The technology of computer-delivered visual profiles and bios, with simultaneous personal phone contact is phenomenal, and provided flawlessly. (No webcam or program downloads necessary). If you can log into a computer you can use this program. It's provided to be totally automatic once you've logged into the website and called in via phone or skype. You'll have about 4 minutes or so to network with each participant. After each matching, you're automatically switched to the next networker and so on. This process repeats automatically till the end of the hour. BONUS: No collecting business cards. After the event you'll be provided with contact details of all the people you networked with.

NYCBizNet also hosts small business expos and seminars with speakers and presentations on different aspects of small business ownership and helping grow our businesses. Our members also help each other by exchanging leads, sharing information and making connections.

The best way to make the most of your experience as a Member of this Group is to attend our networking and meet other like-minded business professionals.

The best thing you can do to promote yourself to our members is to fill in the section on your profile. In this section you have the opportunity to free advertise yourself to all current members and to our new members. As members join they look to see who the other members of the group are.

Post some information about yourself, the business you are in and a website address if you have one. We also strongly suggest you post a photo of yourself. Having this information posted allows everyone know who you are and what you have to offer to other members of this group.

As I say again and again...networking is a verb. So get up, get going and join us.
