Buffalo River Section II and Shoot the Chute!!

Hey, guys! Let's do a lesser traveled section of the Buffalo River. The water is relatively calm, with a few strainers, but beginners should be fine. At the end of the 8 mile trip there is a Class II or III chute that can be bodysurfed and paddled over and over until tired of it!!

PUT IN: will be at Texas Bottom Bridge...the bridge where we last took out on Sickler road...from there follow me all drivers to Topsey bridge for our TAKE OUT...

THIS WILL BE A 13 MILE TRIP...NOT 8 AS PLANNED BEFORE,,,TOPSEY TURVEY OUTFITTER IS CLOSED SO OUR NEW TAKE OUT IS 5 MILES FURTHER ;) AT TOPSEY RD. BRIDGE...

Be sure to bring sunscreen, lunch, beverages, etc - it is an all day trip, with a few stops along the way.

Bring a towel for your car...if you are body surfing you'll be WETTTT ;)

Kayak available for a donation of $25 is appreciated, let me know if you need gear...

    Section III of III:

These are just a few examples of how awesome this group is with regard to sharing of themselves and their gifts and talents. It is a blessing to be around you all and I appreciate being a part of this group. Thank you Susan for being our fearless leader. At this point I would like to discuss how fearless you actually are but I'm not sure that story is for public consumption so out of respect for your privacy I just want to say thank you for being such an amazing "mama bear" looking after your cubs! (Please Note: I would like to keep my future paddles to 10 miles and under, but that's just me, and if you know me that attitude could change in a minute....)

    Have a great week everyone!

(sorry, there are two parts to this diatribe you will have to muddle through if you have any desire at all to read my thoughts)

Jerry, thank you for the hat! I think it was probably a life saver and much appreciated. I love how this group always shares.

Enna, you are a breath of fresh air and a consummate pleasure to be around.

Vladimir, you are a life saver, literally. Thank you for your skill and your humility. I am always glad to see you. I just wish you wouldn't talk so much. I will bring the margaritas on the next trip!

Lorie, thanks for the pruning. It was really very considerate of you and made that narrow passage so much easier for the other paddlers trying to navigate their way through. Not many people would do that for strangers. I think that is pretty cool!

(this may be a 3 part blog... sorry about that...you may have to read it over the course of a few days...)

I love music on the water! Thank you Laura! I love people who are friendly and kind and courteous. I love learning more about people and sharing a meal with these folks. And all of these things are accomplished on a paddle with this group. Keith, I'm thinking about you and wishing you a peaceful and meditative week. You have a lot of stuff going on and important choices to make. I know you will make choices you will be proud of a year from now! On another note, I saw that fish you caught that broke your line and she was a beauty! It is always a pleasure to share an afternoon with you!

Dave, it has been a year since I have had the pleasure of paddling with you and I hope it I see you on the water again before another 12 months go by. You light up a paddle with your outgoing personality.

Rick and Laura, you know I love you! Thank you for hauling me and my kayak all over the world for allowing me to be a part of your life and as always, for the fire water!
