Summer Solstice Druid Ritual

Lets celebrate the Druid/Wiccan holiday of Summer Solstice (many other schools of thought observe this holiday!).  The day is the longest of the year! There is more sun than any other time of year.  After this date the days get shorter again.  This is about giving thanks for what we have manifested in the last year, celebrating our successes in order to create energy that manifests greater success next year.  There is an Order of Bards Ovates and Druids ritual that I usually use as an easy way for everyone to participate, there's a script that is easy to follow: and we can make it more personal to us.  It is also fine to come and observe if this is scary, but it is SUPER easy and harmless.  We all bring some food or wine or juice for a little casual eating celebration afterward, this gives the holiday more power and gives us a chance to talk and open up to new people and reflect on the season.  The organized part of this will not take an hour,  but people are welcome to stay and chat for awhile. For participation in the ritual please bring 5-15$ (sliding scale) and a food or drink item of the season: flowers like rose and hibiscus and jasmine, or sweet berries like cherry and strawberries, herbs like chamomile, basil, fennel, licorice, lavendar, mint (iced tea!), mistletoe, oak, saffron, thyme, parsley, heathers, pine, fir, vervain, honey, st johns wort, ferns: you can bring one of these for decoration or to eat or you can also just search your house for something like watermelon or green salad.   Ask me if you have questions, but this is a sweet ritual and it feels good to observe it, it puts some good energy on your side. I will not do educational/history stuff until afterward, then I will answer all questions!   We'll be inside in the air conditioning unless we decide as a group that we want to do it outside.

So if more than just Mark decide to come for Lughnasad, the next ritual, on August 1: a Friday eve in Auburn, we will get to actually do our ritual, we need 4 people at least for the 4 directions! I had everything prepared, we just need people who are interested to not be timid and come!! :)
