Nancy thank-you for your gracious apology. I think it is outrageous any one asked you to apologize for expressing your feelings in a non aggressive polite manner. I agree with you that too often many people are left out based on their chronological number which is ageist! My 90 year old dad has better health than me at 57. My 71 year old divorced neighbor walks 30 blocks every day and would love to find the right guy and why not? My 87 year old mother still would like to remarry. Most of us want companionship and hugs and want to enjoy fun activities at any age.

Once again thank-you Nancy for standing up for many.

Heidi

Suggested to me this morning that i make a retraction to my letter of displeasure , I do not feel that after having given my opinion that i need to change my views on how i feel, but if this makes the organization happy so be it, I do understand that trying to make all age groups participate in functions  simultaneously a delicate task. Perhaps you could shift your aim in a slightly different focus by restructuring your advertisements in words by encouraging those of a certain age to rediscover that there is a lot to do in our fair city and  that all suggestion will be appreciated, Its not easy advancing towards our golden years most of us are set in our ways but with the right encouragement ,i am sure many will come out of their shell.

I do believe that your organization is a well thought out program but with a deeper investigation of what really pleases the older generation you may hit on something that will bring many to the table. We are living in a world that caters to the young basically and that is good but there are those of us who feel like we sometimes are looking from the outer glass into the world of what we once experienced and that its hard to penetrate that non acceptance, I did experience this with an outing that was sponsored by meetup and it was very hard for me to make an excuse to leave without feeling like a stuffy old shirt, almost 40 years difference in age  makes it hard to feel apart of a group.when there i little in common, believe me.they felt as awkward as i did

To some up ,i am sorry if there were hurt feelings or if i offended any one, i just feel that your wonderful, caring  on line site, should perhaps cater to the older generation by delving into creative ways to bring more to the table for our generation,

Nancy
