Needs a location Coming soon!
We walk or bike the entire 32-mile rim of Manhattan, AKA "The Great Saunter". I need someone to lead/co-lead the walk/hike, and another to lead/co-lead the ride. We all start from in front of South Ferry Terminal building in lower Manhattan at the same time. Cuesheets will be provided for both the walkers & riders, and you will need to be able to complete the circumnavigation on your own as they will not be sweeps.
Pack a plenty of fluids/snacks and extra socks. This is a serious & rewarding endeavor that will take upto 12 hours to complete for the walkers.

Riders, make sure to wear a helmet, bring spare a tube (or two), lock(s) and appropriate tool to remove your wheels in case of a flat. You will not be able to join the ride without them, no exceptions.

My bike group, Bike to Adventure (BtA) will be doing the ride, so there will be a plenty of riders if you choose to bike instead. Post on this page when you RSVP whether you will walk or bike. Thanks.
I hope there are others that want to walk with me!
I'm excited about this. It's a meetup of significant life event stature.
Still trying to decide between walking and biking. Any slower bikers out there? I'll be on a hybrid so I may be a bit slower than the roadies. If I walk, I'll do the full 32 miles.
Hi there, I did this route on MLK day this year-- starting from 96th on the west side and going clockwise. Most of it was smooth (fun), the parts detailed on street were as expected (on a street). The only part that deviated from the official Bike Map route was a section on the Upper East side around 80th? where construction forced us onto a real street (scary for a bad bike rider aka me, but not too bad for experienced), and it did not return to bike path until 37th Street. May change by April.
So I just went to the event web site and the event is posted as happening May 5th. Is anything happening on April 28th?
