A fundraiser for Housing Works & a chance to show your stuff!
Co-sponsored by the local chapter of the Association of Personal Historians:http://nycpersonalhistorians.com/ in recognition of Personal History Awareness month!
You know that vase you inherited from your great uncle who loved to garden & kept his house filled with cut flowers? Or that roll top desk from your great grandfather who was a playwright? How about those cameras from your grandmother who traveled the world documenting the lives of the people she met? That necklace you remember your favorite aunt wore? What about the photographs, paintings, sculptures your ancestors or neighbors left to you? Those baseball cards or coin collections? All those objects that you hold dear but no longer work for you? Would you like to keep a hold of the story but left go of the object? Join us for an evening of object oriented storytelling, record your story to keep it & donate your item to Housing Works. Your object will live on in your memory & the money raised from these objects will support the good work done by Housing Works. YOU DON'T HAVE TO DONATE YOUR OBJECT!!!! But if you're ready to let it go you can.
Remember you don't have to show & tell... you can just look & listen.
