Re: [cribbage-163] Attention Cribbage and Pinochle Players

I concur with Claude in wishing everyone a Happy New Year!

If people still want to play Pinochle on January 11th, I am still a "yes".  Brooklyn is okay and so is Manhattan.  If we play in Manhattan, I will probably be coming to Penn Station (LIRR from Queens), so someplace not too far from there would work.  Maybe Pronto Pizza (and we all know that's never my first choice, but it does have some advantages).

Sunday afternoon Cribbage or Pinochle or both is doable, if a critical number of players can be found, and committed (to playing).  I sympathize with Jodi and Claude who have ended up canceling meetups at the last minute because others have changed plans, or haven't updated their r.s.v.p.  I'm guilty of doing that more than once.

I have January 27th marked on my calendar as a Pinochle date with Adam and Claude.  Is that still the plan?

It's hard to plan too far in advance and even harder to get people together at the last minute.  Not everyone has the same priorities in professional and social life scheduling, but I think most of us would agree that we do have a good time when we do get together.

Blessings for a fulfilling 2013!

We seem to be having problems setting up meetups.

In cribbage, it would be good if the location for the Sunday meetups could be determined two weeks ahead of time. This is important because the location could be a determining factor as to whether or not one can attend.

In pinochle, we seem to have enough players except that no location seems to be satisfactory to enough of them to have a game: we need to have at least four players willing to play at any given location and time in order to play pinochle.

For all, if one has indicated a “yes” RSVP, please change it to “no” as soon as s/he decides to change his/her mind.

Happy New Year to all!
