My interest began with the movement to 'Ban the Bomb' back in the late 1950's. More recent efforts hare centered around modern-day slavery. Doing research on the 13th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, abolishing slavery, the subject of human trafficking kept coming up in searches. Further investigation revealed the magnitude of this crime and its prevalence across the U.S. and right here in NYC. In response I became involved in Fight Slavery Now!, an organization dedicated to eradicating this crime against humanity: http://www.FightSlaveryNow.Org
Quite well versed in the many facets of human trafficking, both sex and labor trafficking. Also very keen on the issues relevant to marine conservation.
Social activist since I was in knee-pants, and that was quite a few decades ago. Current focus is on human trafficking and by extension all the social justice issues that intersect with that crime, most notably the empowerment of women.
