Live music and dancing have long been part of the Irish pub experience. These traditions are shared not just by the Irish but by all of the Celtic nations. So on this night we'll gather at an Irish pub to enjoy the music, dancing and culture of several Celtic nations and traditions, including Ireland, Brittany, Scotland and Galicia.
Please join us for the Interceltic Fest Noz as we welcome the fall season in a big way at Connolly's Times Square's third floor club space. This event will be hosted by BZH NY, the Association of Bretons in New York and the Irish Network New York.
A fest noz--Breton for night festival--is a Breton traditional festival featuring social group dances and live music. Good food and drink are also a part of any fest noz. The Interceltic Fest Noz, a rare event, merges the Breton tradition with the other Celtic traditions. You can read more about the fest noz HERE.
Confirmed musical acts so far include Armel an Hejer and Alain Leclere from Brittany;local Irish rockers The Mickey Finns; James Lovell and Garifuna; Mountain Maidens; Emerald Fire Irish Dancers; Darrah Carr Dance; and Niall O'Leary School of Irish Dance Add this to your calendars now, this is an amazing evening of music, dancing, fun and fellowship and you won't be disappointed. It will also allow us to cross one more pub off the list.
Doors at 7 and we'll meet at Connolly's, on the third floor, starting at that time. Look for us around the bar. Admission is $20 at the door, $10 if you're an active dues-paying member of BZH-NY or Irish Network-New York. Music should start around 7:45 and run until 2 a.m. This will be a joint meetup with the New York Celtic Music Meetup group.
See you there!
