Join us for a middle of the week after-work pub night as we join with my other meetup group, Old New York Bars, to check out Moran's Chelsea.
Moran's has been a fixture in this waterfront neighborhood since 1957. It boasts four distinct dining rooms, a classic cherry wood bar that dates to Prohibition, elaborate fireplaces, and a sidewalk cafe.
Moran's has hosted many a wedding reception and social function over the years. The building Moran's occupies is even older, dating to the early 1800s. The bar and restaurant have wainscoted walls, tin ceilings and Tiffany lamps that reflect a bygone era.
With wood paneling and shelves full of Waterford Crystal, Moran's is a homey, warm pub that might just make you feel like you're in your Irish grandmother's living room.
Meet in the bar area starting around 6:30. Depending on turnout and what folks are up for, we can grab some tables as well. Moran's predates the "gastropub" but it offers well-regarded American fare that's both traditional and contemporary.
See you there!
