Jim Freeman is now Assistant Organizer

I asked Jim Freeman if he'd be Assistant Organizer. He is a tremendous resource and a font of knowledge --a walking plant lecturer. Plus, very amenable.
So while I'm gone to Paris (until Sun. Aug.16) he's free to organize meetings without me. Personally, I would love to see Gordon's Brooklyn deck in the light when I get back, because he is an outdoor planting expert--designs outdoor gardens and decks for a living--so his place is supposed to be botanically fascinating. Some of the group got to see it and others haven't.
Gordon is up for a rematch, but I hope to be able to attend it.
Suggestions for roof decks/gardens that would be interesting for the group to visit are always appreciated. The logistics aren't that hard to work out. If you're OK with people coming straight to your place, we could skip the restaurant meeting-up part. The advantage is that it's somewhat less formal/intimidating for new members to walk in to a restaurant, and it also saves problems with manning the doorbell at the member's apartment, because we can visit their decks in batches if their space is on the smaller side. But that can be worked around with cellphone, etc.
If you would like to organize another meetup before I get back, contact Jim and maybe he'll set something up. "Talk amongst yourselves," etc.
I bid you good will, or whatever they used to say on Star Trek. Back in few days.
