The New York Roof Deck and Roof Gardening Meetup Group Message Board › Rooftop gardening at the Natural History Museum Apr27
New York, NY
I may go to this lecture on Wed. April 27 (details follow). Note--it's not free, in fact $25 a ticket. Let me know if you're interested.
The American Museum of Natural History invites your group to Rooftop Farming: The New Frontier on Wednesday, April 27, at 6:30 pm.
Farmers Gwen Schantz and Anastasia Plakias, founding partners of the one-acre rooftop farm Brooklyn Grange, will explore the renaissance of New York’s agricultural production and discuss ways in which innovators are helping to improve the city’s access to fresh food. Offering a unique look at the business of commercial urban farming, the two will give a history of their
farm and discuss the future of urban agriculture in New York City. Included are three crostinis featuring rooftop-grown spring vegetables.
Rooftop Farming: The New Frontier is part of Adventures in the Global Kitchen. Led by cookbook authors, grill masters, and other culinary connoisseurs, this unique monthly series of talks and tastings is a true treat for all gourmets.
