are you meeting at Northborough library the next few Saturdays in March ?
For those who are getting a hole where the picked-up stitches from the heel flap meets the top of the sock:My fix is to pick up the yarn running between the last stitch of the heel flap and first stitch of the top. Place it on the needle as you would a backward loop. Before resuming Sandi's directions, knit one round, doing a knit 2 tog. or SSK (whichever looks better to you) when you get to the backward loop.
Weirdly (aka my knitting style), when I came to the second backward loop this time, it still left a hole, so I switched places:dropped backwards loop, slipped next stitch, picked up next runner as the backward loop, put stitch back on left needle and did a K2T on them. Not perfect, but better.

Like I said, not perfect. What do you do? I thought my problem was more of an instep issue at first, but now that I got the second sock to instep, a vaguely remembered comment about "holes" from a more experience knitter came to mind. spran to min
oops. can't type either.
Am loving the socks, though. Thanks so much for guiding us through. I'd been hugely intimidated by such an "architectural" project.
