Introductory beginner's level hike at Pyramid Mountain

I will be leading an approximately four-mile beginner's level hike (Tripod Rock-Taylortown reservoir  route)  at Pyramid Mountain. While this is a beginner's hike, if you have never hiked before, this is NOT a hike for you. No dogs please.

We will finish in approximately 2.5 hours (including 0.5 hr total break time) plus or minus half an hour; from 945am to 1215pm

So, the pace will be approximately 2 miles per hour on the flatter colored blaze trail hike stretches and  approximately 1.5 miles per hour on the hillier colored blaze trail stretches; on this much shorter distance introductory preview Pyramid Mountain hike; to the more traditional longer very popular classic beginner level NJ/PA/NY Hiking Group  Pyramid Mountain group training hike; that is normally scheduled twice a month;

with that being said, one of the primary reasons for this introductory preview NJ/PA/NY Hiking Group hike is to give other fellow NJ/PA/NY Hiking Group members and their friends/family members; who are truly interested in potentially hiking a taste of what hiking is truly all about; hopefully they to will both learn and discover for themselves; that its truly all about getting outside and enjoying the "great outdoors" with other very friendly and like minded hiking interested fellow NJ/PA/NY Hiking Group members naturally, to help kick off the upcoming summer hiking season which traditionally starts Memorial Day Weekend going forward.

Meet up will be at 945am sharp, and end at 1230pm plus or minus half an hour.

Hike will run as scheduled unless their is a published comment saying otherwise; only heavy rain cancels and this must be published in comment area below hike description area and it is the sole responsibility for the fellow NJ/PA/NY Hiking Group member to check meet up announcements in the comment area before heading out the day of scheduled hike!

We will take the main blue trail uphill to the famous Tripod Rock (1.5 mile), take a break for 20 minutes for photos and picnic.

Then, continue  on White Trail (0.5 mile), then go downhill on Orange Trail along the scenic Taylortown Reservoir and finish up on the Yellow Trail(total about 2 miles).

We will meet at the main parking lot, right in front of the park map display window Information Kiosk structure with the roof tiles. See links provided below for directions and/or park maps.

It is imperative to be on time; please be on time as we are on a tight time frame itinerary based scheduled departure!

There will be no designated rear sweep hiker on this Independently run NJ/PA/NY HIking Group group hike being lead by a fellow NJ/PA/NY HIking Group member;

sturdy hiking boots with sufficient ankle support are strongly recommended to ensure both safety, comfort and to help ensure/prevent potential injury during hike/walk; please use bug repellent to avoid potential tics;

please also bring at least two bottles to three bottles of water;

and some portable popular classic snacks such as ones favorite trail mix, energy bars, fig newtons, graham crackers, oatmeal cookies, peanuts, cashews, pistachios, pretzels, beef jerky, apples, sectioned oranges, raisins, bananas, peanut butter & jelly layered with grilled ham, grilled bacon, scrambled egg, shredded melted cheese on lettuce and tomato toasted sandwich, two to three bottles of grape juice, cranberry juice, orange juice, are just some possible potential elective popular food/snack suggestions that one may optionally elect to choose to bring and consume while on hike.
