Jefferson Park Business District Walking Tour with Jeff Fest

Please join the Northwest Chicago Historic Society as we discover the 180 years of rich history of the Jefferson Park business district during a 1-hour walking tour.

Our tour will begin at the Northwest Chicago Historical Society Booth at Jeff Fest

Bring comfortable walking shoes.

Tour Cost: Free with purchase of an entrance ticket for Jeff Fest


Some Tour Highlights:

History of Milwaukee Avenue.

History of the first business 1831.

View over 50 photos of what Jefferson Park look like in years gone by.

Hear the Henry Esdohr story from the back porch of his historic 1880’s home.

View two buildings designed by local architect Clarence Hatzfeld.

View the oldest financial instruction in Chicago managed by the same family.

View the oldest Church in Jefferson Park (150 years).

View the building that housed Chicago first dollar store.

View the building that housed Jefferson Park’s first firehouse.


Reservations are required for this walking tour and reservations can be made just by signing up for this Meetup.  You must be at our Jeff Fest booth (Northwest Chicago Historical Society booth) 15 minutes before the 1:00 PM start. Limit of 15 people for the walking tour, late arrivals forfeit their place to the next person on the waiting list.
