Where: Copernicus Center
5216 W Lawrence Ave

Please stop by the Northwest Chicago Historical Society exhibit at this year's Taste of Polonia. Pick up a newsletter and view some historic pictures of the area. Take a peek inside the historic Gateway Theater and learn about one of the last surviving atmospheric theaters in Chicago, the first one built exclusively for the 'talkies".

While you're at it, dine on such dishes as pierogi, Polish sausage, sauerkraut, kabobs, pizza, hot dogs and beer at the 30th annual cultural celebration of Polish traditions, where Polish and American bands play everything from rock to blues to polka music on three main stages.

Also featured are costumed folk dancers, kids' activities, arts and crafts, and more. Billed "the largest ethnic fest in Chicago," the outdoor festival takes place at the grounds of the Copernicus Foundation at the Gateway Theater, located on Lawrence Avenue between Milwaukee Avenue and the Kennedy Expressway.

There will also be a film fest, WELL SLEPT FILM FESTIVAL. They'll be screening an array of new and exciting films, among them two shorts programs, works by Polish filmmaker Alina Szpak, a documentary on the fascinating Czech Legion that graced the front pages of the Chicago Reader, as well as Brandon Wetherbee?s film The Shuffle.
