Announcing a new Meetup for The Northwest Chicago History Meetup Group!

What: "Those Were The Days Radio Players" and Old Time Radio

When: Saturday, November 20,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Edgewater Historical Society and Museum
5358 N. Ashland Avenue
Chicago, IL 60640
(773)[masked]

Our friends at the Edgewater Historical Society are presenting "Those Were The Days Radio Players", who will perform an hour of comedy from Radio's Golden Age. Next year we will have these players perform four times during 2011.

This time we will have an Jack Benny episode about when Jack began his often-repeated phrase - "I'm thinking!" - when a robber demands his money or his life. The other program is a Fibber and Molly show where the famous closet scene appears twice.

Our current exhibit is about the Edgewater Community Council's 50th Anniversary. The many reminders of how ECC has helped to shape the whole community of Edgewater are on display. It is mind blowing to see the many off-shoots that have come from this marvelous organization. Our museum is heated for the winter, now that we have crossed over into the Holiday season. Our docents are there waiting for you and will be happy to point out interesting things.

The Edgewater Historical Society Museum is located at 5358 North Ashland. We are open every Saturday from noon-4pm, Sunday from 1pm-5pm, and upon request. We will be closed on Christmas Day and on New Years Day. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.
