3rd Annual Jamalaye-Ubuntu African Dance, Drum, and Culture Festival

Hello. I want to personally invite you to the best Congolese drumming class ever and a full day of Traditional African dance with Master Instructors. Sunday, February 24, 2013, 1-7pm, at Crenshaw Yoga and Dance – 5426 Crenshaw Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90047 is the Jamalaye-Ubuntu African Dance, Drum, and Culture Festival. 1-2:30 Naby Bangoura will teach Guinee dance, 2:30-4pm Vivien Bassouamina will teach Congolese drumming (you can bring your djembe and/or conga drum, 4-5:30pm Vivien Bassouamina will then teach Congolese Dance, and lastly Lamine Thiam will teach Sabar Senegalese dance 5:30-7pm. Lamine Thiam will be teaching a beginning to intermediate class. So if you have been wanting to learn Sabar, this is a good start. All classes are $20 each. There will also be African and American food and snacks, an African marketplace, a natural hair care seminar, spoken word/poetry and more. So you will have plenty activities to do between classes.
