There is an artists warehouse co-op space down in Kaka'ako that has some funky artwork left out, cluttered up, and laying around--sounds great!

Think boho/hippie type look. Models will be in flow-y clothes, similar to the above styles. Soft hair, dewy faces, browns, beiges, purples, whites...

There's natural light as well as overhead light, but feel free to bring your own!

This is a "working" space, meaning there may be artists there -working-. They have graffiti artists, printmakers, designers, painters, and a little bit of everything. And they are paying to rent the space. So please be mindful of not interfering with them. (Although they'll know we're coming!)

As with other shoots where another artists work is portrayed, photographers will need to offer them any images they feel represent quality work on the photographers part. If the images are used, the photographer will be credited.

****LOCATION UPDATE*****

I'm unable to put the address in to the location part, it doesn't seem to recognize it. If you put it in to MapQuest, it does come up!

300 Lana Lane

Honolulu, Hi.

There is street parking, so feel free to park wherever you'd like. Please do not park in front of the graffiti wall right outside the building, as we'll use that as well.

I'm so bummed I missed this event. Seems like it would have been a great opportunity to experience a studio environment and make use of off-camera flash. If this project is ever revisited, I would definitely be there.

Not know what to expect, it was interesting. I've never photographed models. Would like to do more.

I know where this place is. It's behind the BOCA bike shop.
A friend of mine is trying to get a community black & white wet darkroom started in one of the spaces. For you digital photographers, it's a place where we develop film and make prints.

The place is called Lana Lane Studios. It's on a private road, so the maps don't really recognize it. It's a block mauka from Ala Moana Blvd. If you were at the Ink shoot, its where the stunt motorcross jumpers were set up.
    I hope that helps

@Brian - I have always wanted to do film. Have you done it?

You're right Brian. The space is more for making prints. Film developing is just a bonus for having a dark space.

Heck yes. I love this style and will wear the clothes after the shoot. I think Allison wants to go shopping too.

For those who saw the general area, you can't get to the street from Ala Moana, you have to come down Halekauwila (I think that's the main street that runs parallel to Ala Moana, 1 block up). The wall on the Ewa side of the street also has graffiti painted on it--which we'll be able to use!

The pictures above are some that Allison found that are good inspiration for the kind of look the shoot is after.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
