Photoshop shoot

With the location finalized, here are the details...

The room is a little of a shorter rectangle. There is a wall of mirrors down one of the short ends, and then both of the longer ends have glass windows which have vertical blinds to cover them. We will have full access of the room as well as bathrooms. The room is normally used as an exercise room, so we will have full access to whatever equipment is there.

Because of the above, parts of the shoot will have to be "reimagined."  We can still do the following:

*Reflections-the model will be in front of a mirror with reflections in different outfits (elegant, hippie, casual, etc.). This will be limited to no more than 5 total wardrobe changes.

*Falling-model will be shot "falling" backwards. It's up to the photographer to decide what the model is "falling" in to. Models will be in full gowns, necessary to cover up a stool used as a prop. (There is also a small, portable stage to use. It has green astro-turf on it. If someone has a small air mattress, this might help the "falling" aspect.)

Because this is at the Y, and they are a non-profit organization, this is a donation type of event. There is no charge to participate, but please try to donate a little something. $5 is fine, $20 is great. It's all up to you, and there is no reason to feel obligated to donate anything if you feel you cannot afford it! You may give the money to Debra directly at the event, or do it through Paypal (but please note what it's for, and know that Paypal does take a small percentage).

If anyone else has any ideas, please feel free to post them here, but please try to flesh them out as much as possible.

    Two things for everyone:
    1) Kyle will be the point of contact from here on out for this event. If you have any questions about anything, please direct them to him, as I will not have email/Meetup access until after the event.

2)Please don't forget this is a donation-based event, it's not necessary to contribute anything, but the Y is a non-profit business, and every little bit helps.

As always, this is a space used by many different people. It's never been an issue before, and I can't see it becoming one now, but just as a reminder please make sure to take out everything you bring in and clean up any messes made. These are people I see almost every day, and have been gracious enough to let us use the facility. Thank you!

just an f.y.i....I have to work until 4, and was going to hustle there afterwards. I thought it would work since Allison was going to be doing multiple wardrobe changes. However, if she's not, I may not make it before everyone's ready to go. I'll still do my best to get there as quick as I can.

I found a dress that I think will work for both shoot ideas. I can start with the falling image, so I will be out of that composition whenever Deb arrives. Then I will pull my hair up into a more formal style for the mirror, and finally don some super comfy clothes (from my boyfriend's closet!!) and grunge up my hair/makeup to complete the shot outside the mirror. It should be a pretty smooth transition all around (with a potential short pause to help Deb finalize makeup). I'll also bring some masking tape and a sharpie so photographers can mark where they were standing for the mirrored shots, as you will be working around each other and might want to return to the same spot for both shots. If there is anything else you think we might need, please feel free to ask.

Hey guys. I just watched a movie and there was a scene in the movie where the lady stood in front of the mirror in bra and panties and was able to scroll through her wardrobe using the mirror so her reflection was the outfit. I think that might be a cool reflection photo to adding in the digital stuff to the mirror reflection as well if anyone is interested in doing this shot with me.

Falling: Anyone interested in doing this should have a full gown, or at least something full-length and movable. (This will be done after the "Reflections" portion.) Hair should be down so there is motion with it.

Details: Rich will have a green screen, and Lin mentioned she has an air mattress. We will have stools for the model to lay on--the photographers can edit from there. Does someone have a small box fan they could bring?

Composing is way tougher then compising

I will bring some stuff for this.

Reflections: Allison and Christie mentioned wanting to do this. Would you be willing to work on a timeframe/sequence with each other offline & then post the details here? If anyone else is interested in participating in this portion, please let Allison know.

I must have phrased my question wrong. I thought we were supposed to do MULTIPLE reflections coming out of the mirror, not just a single reflection (see description: "This will he limited to no more than 5 total wardrobe changes.") So the question is...just a single reflection (as in B&B) or multiple reflections (as in vampire AND werewolf AND zombie...)?

      August 3, 2013

    • Rich

I think a single reflection. I think the wardrobe thing is to give more models a chance to get pictures

Unfortunately, I have to back out, I booked a client who was in a time crunch at the last minute. Sorry!

It looks like we have a great turnout with this coming up! There are quite a few people who are multi-talented who have RSVP'd yes. If you have more than one skill listed, could you please take the time to put down here what you'll be doing for the shoot? (i.e.-modeling, photographing, etc.) Thank you!

    August 1, 2013

  • Drew / A.

Will try to make it given the changed time.

    July 29, 2013

  • debra

Since this shoot is coming up, I'd like to tighten up the planning on this, since it looks like we'll have a good turnout. If you have any suggestions other than the 3 posted, please feel free to add them!

As of yet, we do not have any MUA's signed up, so everyone will be responsible for doing their own hair and makeup.

Macro-shots: Rich had mentioned this, could you flesh this out for everyone?
