The placard on Bradshaw's grave gives sole credit to Isaac Bradshaw as namesake to the Bradshaw Mountains. However, Isaac had four brothers, three of whom initially came to Arizona. His brother William led the group. History is not clear as to whether William actually penetrated the mountains. We know he did placer mining on the east side of the mountains in Black Canyon and Turkey Creek. William later went on to establish the Ehrenberg Ferry across the Colorado River. He committed suicide in 1864 after an unsuccessful attempt in politics. After his brother's death, Isaac came into prominence when he reopened the "Bradshaw Diggings" which, at its peak, involved over 100 miners.
