This is in to response to several of the posts here asking for runs that are a little more "user friendly". As all good organizers should do we have heard your voices and are planning a really cool "mall rated" Scenic Trip Thru the Pines which will be rated 1 to 1.5. The 1.5 is only because one of the roads has been driven while muddy and ruts have been generated. A few rocks and ruts make it slow and bumpy but it will be an easy run with fine vistas and many photo opportunities. Great opportunities for a new person to drive or even let the spouse and or good friend get a little wheel time. We are planning a week day run followed by a weekend run. It will include a lunch spot at a beautiful canyon overlook and then a short hike to a waterfall and end up 7 miles from some cool spots for dinner. Food as always will be your responsibility.

Stay tuned for the posting for these runs.

    Enjoy

There seem to be a lot of newer members (me, too) who probably need an easier trail to get oriented and test their skills and vehicle...
Perhaps one of the experienced, benevolent organizers knows such a trail and would setup a run for us newbies, supervised by a few veterans with winches and highlift jacks?
Weekdays would be great for me. Are there others who don't work fulltime who would be interested in mid-week stuff?

We have an FJ and I watched the video with the FJ but not sure if we could handle it without skid plates. Looks too risky for our daily driver. Fun but risky

I would like to go, but neither my rig nor my skill are up to the task. For 20 years I drove back roads and trails in 2wd pickup trucks, followed by 10 years in an ’88 4wd Suburban. Most of that was done as a means of accessing hunting areas or places of interest, like ghost towns, old mines, etc. Recently I switched to a Cherokee for more maneuverability. I am sure that in the future there will be some “moderate” rated trips that I will feel comfortable joining.

Very interesting... Location, timing is perfect for me; however, I'm new to club and my Jeep, so reluctant to jump in on more difficult trail. Jeep is capable, but not so sure about driver! Need easier trail to get started, thanks.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
