The topic for the December Meetup is Paid Search Click Quality Vigilance which will be presented by David Kyle from PlanetSearch.com

Paid search programs like Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing are becoming the top advertising medium for many businesses today. A couple of the reasons are excellent ROI and the level of detailed data that they make available.

Like with any "good thing", there is a minority who attempt to exploit it for nefarious purposes that are motivated by greed.

Google and Yahoo expend an enormous effort on stopping these things on the advertiser's behalf, but they still need help. They both have tools in their respective control panels that allow the advertiser to "join the battle", and ensure that paid clicks are relevant and valid.

David will be putting the spotlight on the dark elements that could be stealing from an advertiser's budget, and highlighting the tools provided by Google, Yahoo, and 3rd party applications that help combat them.

This meetup should provide something useful for everyone. It will be a "click quality 101" for beginners. David will also be sharing data and findings from his high CPC markets that professionals should find interesting. There will be time for other professionals to share their experiences, tips, and advice. As always, there will also be time for networking.

Hi Robert. That would be to easy to game. I could set up goals and conversions on any page and get 100% conversion rates. Google doesnt know if your conversion means a sale, just that the code was triggered and recorded as a conversion. Keith

hey dave, concerning google analytics... I'm not sure but I think Adwords has a 'conversation ratio', and if you have a good ratio then you would have a better quality score. Maybe Google analytics would have the same thing with a proper/ethical goals setup? Of course there are over 200 other factors for SERPs, but everything helps.

David is always interesting. He knows what he is doing. We may also include some other information about the direction this group is going in the future. If you can't make it in person, please plan on watching it live on Ustream.
