Searching for a new way to be in the NOW? Transform your routine walk into a soothing meditative practice. Learn this special technique to harness the rhythm of your mind and breath to experience more physical fitness, a deeper appreciation for the nature around you, and more mental clarity.
In our daily lives, we spend more time walking than sitting quietly with our eyes closed. Walking meditation can serve as a powerful bridge between meditation practice and daily life, helping us be more present, mindful and concentrated in ordinary activities. It can reconnect us to a simplicity of being and the wakefulness that comes from it!
Walking meditation brings a number of benefits in addition to the cultivation of mindfulness, otherwise known as,”being in the present moment”. It can be a help to build concentration, gratitude, and a deeper connection to ourselves, nature and each other. Walking Meditation is also a fantastic way to supplement your other personal wellness practices and support your current sitting meditation or yoga practice if you have them!
The walking pace for these events is slow and deliberate...the focus is on listening to the nature around us and the feeling of our steps, the air on our skin, our deep and focused breath, and the energy we receive from the outdoor environment.
Our Meetups are held throughout the year at area parks and other interesting venues to strengthen our practice.
In addition to our walking meditation events I do post and invite our members to other meditation events that are held both outdoors and indoors. Whether they all involve walking or not, I promise you will enjoy them and benefit from them greatly!
Many of our Walking Meditation Meetups are FREE but other events will be included that may have a fee. Fees are always at a reduced rate for all members!
**Due to the meditative focus of these gatherings, we ask that you not bring pets or children under 12 with you. (We adore both though!)
