Open IoT: Join the discussion, build a community, bring a project

The Internet of Things connects people to things, things to things, and people to people, using new hardware and software systems. It has the potential to change everything we do.

Our goals are to organize an open source community around developing Internet of Things projects and standards. We want to create a place to share ideas and resources, and to create a framework to allow all of our IoT devices and systems to work together using open source software and hardware.

The format of our meetup is open to encourage people to bring projects to demonstrate and share, bring ideas and work-in-progress to present, and participate in round table discussions.

The space is open with tables and WiFi access, and plenty of space to set up and mingle. We'll bring coffee, tea, and light snacks as usual. Feel free to contribute.

Please come to our fourth meetup on March 12th, and help us build the Open Source Internet of Things ecosystem.

Who is interested in the analysis, presentation and visualization of Big Data coming from highly dispersed outdoor sensors of all kinds?

Good article. Yeah, when the data involves real-time images, it could be huge...

Sandy: There are a lot of pieces that, if not missing, are not "done yet" for these applications. Including sensors (cheap, durable, accurate), endpoint analytics (to reduce network traffic from sending raw, unfiltered data). etc. Even wireless technology is forces a lot of tradeoffs.
