The Ratskeller is a bar ; I wouldn't like to go there. How about Panera Bread again? We have only been there a few times and we had good conversation there and there is always a nice table for a group such as ours.

Usually, when Maria is there, no one talks in English at all and so I would say it was more for advanced speakers but I love the fact that everyone came and hope no one felt left out. I just hope everyone can come back since there is new people every time and Maria is usually always there.

Friday was my first time at this Meetup Group, and I enjoyed meeting and speaking with everyone. Yes, there are different 'levels' of understanding and speaking, the whole purpose is to 'try', learn ... and have fun. (I felt good about all three.) The food was 'so so' ... perhaps in January we could try the Ratskeller there in Old World Village??? (I haven't been there before, still maybe nice to 'try it'.) :)

Oh ... I believe there were nine total in attendance, and yes, as Annie mentioned, we 'missed' the organizers being there. The more ... the merrier!

Good but too few people were there.

It was nice meeting some native German speakers and trying to practice my German. However, I do feel that this Meetup was more for people already fluent in German, rather than learning. I felt that some of the regulars were a little dismayed at the people, like me, who are learning, and still at a very basic level. The organizer wasn't there, which seemed a little strange.
