Is it at all possible to know the next few books we will be reading? I would like to order at least two in one go and avoid expensive shipping fees.

I know the Oak at Kent and Slater allows for meetups on weeknights. I used to hold meetings with another cultural group there.

Thank you for letting me know. We are all set for this month, but it is good to have other options.

I am a book club newbie so I have a few questions. Are we supposed to have the whole book read by July 22? Is the $5 something we will pay each time we attend a meeting or is it a one time fee? What is the $5 fee for?

    July 13, 2014

    • Stacey

Hi Andrea, I encourage you to still come, if you don't finish the book. The $5 event fee (monthly) helps fund the operations of the Global Girly Book Club. This is more than just an ordinary book club. They help us with organization of events (Author Events), online community, charities and raffles. Please check out the website.

Hi everyone, looking forward to this!! I live in Riverside South so a venue downtown or the suggested one on Holland sounds good :)

So foolish chicken upstairs is available. No cost for the room but owner needs to know if people ordering food/ drink so he knos if he needs to pay for staff for upstairs that night.I needs to make sense for him from business standpoint.Travel meetup was there. They always ate as well.

    July 4, 2014

    • Stacey

  • Erin W.

We have a HOST!!! Just looking for a venue - with wine! So no churches I am afraid. But thanks for the recommendation.

    July 3, 2014

    • Sarah K

No worries, would t really want it at a church- I just remember my grandmothers book club met at a church...

      July 3, 2014

  • Stacey

I have spoke with Erin and as far as I know we are still going ahead.

    July 3, 2014

  • Barb W.

So are we going ahead? Thought we have no coordinator?

    July 3, 2014

  • Sarah K

For a venue, might I suggest emailing churches and asking to use a room there? They often have rooms used for events such as these.
