The RA photo club has invited Angelina McCormick, Professional Fine Art Photographer to present a special talk she has entitled:
Sheep in the Meadow – Excess Sheep Removed
Date: February 20, 2014
Time: 7:30 – 9:00 PM
Place: Courtside B, RA Centre
Details: Well-known Ottawa Photographer, Angelina McCormick, is compelled to do more than just make a statement – the attraction of photography came from her desire to communicate a concept, and to connect with people on multiple levels.
From the initial concept through to the finished work of art, Angelina has a polished style, which is a blend of the old masters’ darkroom techniques, which she transfers to her high end darkroom and digital production.
Intense and even provocative at times, Angelina coexists in her photographs.
In an informative and enlightening presentation, Angelina will explore the conflict and concern over the credibility of photography as a fine art practice today and the effect that digital photography and technology is having on photography’s confidence in the Arts. The distinction between photographs made by artists and everyone else with a camera needs to be addressed through defining what photography is.
Subject to its new fan dangled and rapidly obsolete technologies - what makes a fine art photograph?
Angelina’s presentation will be approximately one hour, followed by 20-30 minutes Q & A.
